Blasted or Routed?

When deciding what you want your sign to look like, there are a few options to consider. The type of finish and lettering option you choose can greatly alter the way your finished sign will look. The following images and descriptions should help clarify the difference between options, and give you a better idea of how your finished sign will look.

The standard type of sandblasting will have smooth, raised letters with a grain-textured background.

The reverse type of sandblasting will have recessed letters with a smooth sign face.

A routed/carved sign typically has V-carved recessed letters with a smooth sign face.

Sandblasted HDU signs have 2 choices of blast texture. The standard type is a pebble finish. Grain frame is a faux wood grain finish.
